Who is the ideal candidate?
Pretty much anyone who has developed spider veins due to hormonal changes, pregnancies, standing for long periods of time and/or simply genetics is an ideal candidate for this procedure.
Who are ineligible candidates?
Patients who are not candidates for this procedure include:
-
Pregnant and breastfeeding patients.
-
Have history of blood clots or suffer from clotting disorders.
-
Have varicose veins that required being surgically removed.
Are results immediate?
After the first treatment the appearance of the vein will be diminished; however, more sessions are always recommended for optimal results.
How many treatments are recommended for results?
5-10 sessions once a week, depending on the amount/severity of veins noted.
What is the downtime after the treatment?
There really is no downtime; other than no exercise, heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 24 hours post treatment.
What are the side effects?
Redness at the injection site, bruising, leg pain and cramping might occur.
Are there any restrictions?
It is recommended not to exercise or perform any heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 24 hours after the procedure. Also, elevate the treated legs for about 15 minutes after the procedure. Elastic bandages will be applied to the treated legs, those bandages should be taken off right before going to bed.
Are there any restrictions?
One treatment is about $80-$100, but patients will need more than one treatment for optimal results.
